Der Genuß alles Schönen, der Trost, den die Kunst gewährt, ... erlöst nicht auf immer, sondern nur auf Augenblicke vom Leben, und ist so noch nicht der Weg aus demselben, sondern nur einstweilen ein Trost in demselben, bis die dadurch gesteigerte Kraft, endlich des Spieles müde, den Ernst ergreift. Als Sinnbild dieses Ueberganges kann man die heilige Cäcilie von Raffael betrachten.
